Industrial Automation Technician

We are currently seeking an Intermediate/Senior Industrial Automation Technician to join our team. This role involves the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and automated production/process equipment.

Qualifications:

• Red Seal Journeyman Electrician certification (mandatory)
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
• Similar or Equivalent qualifications may be considered

Preferred Additional Certifications:

• Industrial Electronic Technician/Technology
• Electronic Systems Engineering Technology
• Industrial Instrument Mechanic
• Instrumentation Engineering Technology
• Industrial Mechanic (Millwright)

Preferred Skills & Experience:

Candidates with experience in the following will be given preference:

• PLC/HMI Programming (Allen Bradley preferred)
• Feedback and control devices (RTDs, thermocouples, I2P, encoders, etc.)
• Robot programming and integration (ABB preferred)
• Electrical and electronic troubleshooting
• CNC equipment
• Servo/stepper motor systems
• Machine safeguarding and safety devices
• Basic mechanical system knowledge (as related to automation)
• Pneumatic devices
• System layout, design, detailing, and documentation
• AutoCAD, MS Office proficiency

Key Job Tasks:

• Install, diagnose, and repair complex automated production equipment
• Assist in bid/quote preparation and technical sales
• Procurement of components and materials
• Perform quality control and system commissioning
• Prepare detailed technical documentation

Other Requirements:

• Own basic hand tools and multimeter
• CSA-approved hard-toe safety boots
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
• Strong attention to detail and high workmanship standards
• Effective time management and organizational skills
